At the age of 30, the future Lord Fairhaven began to create his first home. Wanting to inspire and surprise visitors, he created a spectacular garden with planting for all seasons and a cosy Jacobean-style house in which to entertain. Life revolved around horse racing and shooting, and guests revelled in 1930s luxury. Inside, you’ll find fine furnishings, books, paintings, silver and rare clocks whilst outside there's 114 acres of vibrant colours and natural landscape to enjoy, including the Spring Garden which features daffodils and hyacinths and should be looking lovely in March. This spring, knowledgeable garden guides will take you on a specialist tour uncovering over 40 varieties of delightful daffodils and other seasonal highlights across the estate. These tours are free, no need to book, just ask a member of the Welcome Team on arrival, the tour lasts approx. one hour and starts at 1:30pm.

There's lots more to enjoy at Anglesey Abbey including a wildlife hub at the Woodland Play Area, refreshments at Redwoods Restaurant, great gift ideas at the Shop and Plant Centre and an eighteenth-century watermill that's full of history. Click to explore the house and the garden and view the map for walking routes across the estate.

Discount available for National Trust Members - £25 for adults and £22.50 for seniors/children. Just let us know in special requests and don't forget to bring your valid membership card with you on the day. We're due to arrive at 11:30 and depart at 15:30.
