Every year one of Britain's finest stately homes transforms its interior and garden with an enchanting Christmas theme. This year's theme is Palace of Advent! Discover 24 rooms filled with Christmas wonder and the sights, sounds and scents of the season. Travel under archways adorned with candy canes, handmade Christmas stockings and mistletoe. Explore a winter wonderland and glittering Christmas tree brooch forest. At the heart of the house, you’ll find Father Christmas’ workshop; a hive of activity as preparations are underway for the all-important Christmas Eve deliveries. Keep your eyes peeled for his little helpers around the house, who you may spot making mischief while Father Christmas is away.

Your ticket also includes access to Christmas in the Garden, Christmas at the Farmyard and the outdoor Christmas Market. An interactive light and sound trail meanders past the cascade and through the Rock Garden and Maze, leading to a spectacular light show that transforms the outside of the house! The farmyard, too, will be dressed for Christmas with the chance to meet the animals. You'll find some wonderful festive treats, gifts and decorations at the outdoor market, with over 100 stalls selling fine local produce. Take a break from shopping and enjoy a mulled wine or German beer and sample some of the delicious food on offer. There's live music too, to get you in the festive spirit - take a look at Chatsworth's Christmas Market highlights.

We're due to arrive at Chatsworth at 12:30 ready for our timed entry to the house at 14:00. We'll depart at 16:30. There will be a short stop at Notcutts Garden Centre in Nottingham on the outbound journey.
