Journey deep into Derbyshire on the longest heritage railway in the county. Watch from your window as the countryside gently passes you by, following the River Ecclesbourne from its source to its confluence with the River Derwent. This nostalgic journey includes a delicious cream tea, served to your seat, as you make your way from Wirksworth Station to Duffield and back again. At Wirksworth Station you'll find a café, museum, miniature railway and picnic area.

There's free time to enjoy Matlock before your train journey. Find your way to Crown Square for a great choice of independent shops, cafés and pubs. Or maybe take a summer stroll around award-winning Hall Leys Park, which is usually full of colour in summer with views of Riber Castle in the distance.

Includes return travel, a reserved coach seat, free time in Matlock and a return ride on the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway with cream tea. The coach is due to arrive in Matlock at 12:00 and will depart at 14:30, arriving at Wirksworth Station at 14:45. The train departs at 15:25 and arrives back in Wirksworth at 17:00. We will head home at 17:15. There will be a 45 minute comfort stop at Notcutts Nottingham on the outward journey. A mixture of diesel and steam engines run on this line and a particular locomotive cannot be guaranteed.
