Haddon is 900 years old and has been owned by one family for the duration of its existence, it is regarded as one of the most important historic houses in England. Haddon was left under lock and key by its owners for more than 200 years from the reign of Queen Anne to the late 19th century, resulting in its interiors being left untouched.

There’s so much to admire: the Long Gallery (reputed to be the most beautiful room in England), the oldest medieval kitchens in England, the Chapel, one of the most important early English furniture collections, a nationally important collection of tapestries and the romantic Elizabethan walled garden. In summer, these ancient gardens are bursting with colour and offer peaceful views across the Peak District National Park. Don't miss a free highlights tour which take place every half an hour from 13:30, available on a first come first served basis. The refurbished restaurant is located within the 17th Century stable block with wonderful views of the Hall and river. Find out more. En route, we'll pause in nearby Bakewell on market day - the largest market in the Derbyshire Dales!
