Look out for three guest locomotives running alongside the home fleet during this traction-packed day! Spend an early spring soaking up the scenery in Brontë Country with a nostalgic, relaxing journey on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway, known affectionately as ‘The Railway Children Line’. This scenic line was thrust into the limelight in the 1970s when Lionel Jeffries selected the railway as the backdrop for his adaption of E. Nesbit’s The Railway Children. More recently, the line has been used as filming locations for Peaky Blinders and All Creatures Great and Small. You’ll also have time to explore the village of Haworth, home to the famous Brontë sisters, where Wuthering Heights characters Cathy and Heathcliff were born and where Jane Eyre came to life.
Includes a return rail ride, free time in Haworth, return travel and a reserved coach seat. The coach is due to arrive at Oxenhope Station at 11:55 ready for the 12:25 train to Keighley. The train arrives in Keighley at 12:50 and there's free time to explore the town before the 14:25 return train journey to Oxenhope (arriving at 14:50). From here, continue to Haworth, arriving at 15:10 before heading home at 17:00. There will be a 30 minute comfort stop at Blyth Services on the outward and return journeys.
