Spend a day in the Victorian 'Water Cure' town of Great Malvern, a destination loved by the likes of Florence Nightingale, Charles Dickens and Charles Darwin who would visit to reap the medicinal benefits of Malvern's famous Spring Water. The tranquil views over the Severn Valley create a lovely backdrop as you wander through this pretty hillside setting. Perhaps pause for a coffee, pop in to one of the many bookshops, antique shops and boutiques or visit one of the galleries. Take time to explore the town's cathedral-sized priory (home to the oldest medieval stain-glass windows besides York Minister in England) and St Ann's Well (a 10-15 minute walk from the town centre offering spectacular views over the Severn Plain). Start planning your day with Visit Worcestershire.
Perhaps consider taking some sturdy shoes too as there are some lovely walks leaving from Great Malvern that explore the edge of The Malvern Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There's also an interesting route around the town that takes in many of the fine buildings, download it here.
The coach is due to arrive at 12:00 and depart at 17:00, setting down and picking up outside the Malvern Theatre. There will be a comfort stop at Rugby Services on the outward journey and at Corley Services on the return journey.
