Driving in, you’ll no doubt spot the 315-ft spire towering above the beautifully preserved 900 year old Norman Cathedral that dominates the city centre. The Cathedral is one of the finest in Europe and regularly plays host to free art exhibitions in its uniquely medieval, yet modern, exhibition space. After exploring the independent shops and pavement cafés in the Cathedral Quarter you might want to make your way to The Lanes for more of the same but make sure you do so via Elm Hill. This pretty street is a step back in time with more medieval buildings on this one street than in the whole City of London!

Norwich Castle and Marketplace are set in one of the oldest parts of the city. The market has been on this site for over 900 years and the castle was founded for non-other than William the Conqueror after his famous 1066 invasion! Norwich open-air market features an exciting mix of quality local food set beneath traditional colourful stalls whilst the modern Castle Quarter building hosts over 60 exciting spots for high-street shopping, eating and leisure. Norwich Castle Museum & Art Gallery is in the midst of a £13.5m project to transform the internal spaces, but there’s still plenty to see including the Art Galleries, Natural History Galleries and Egyptian Collections.

Looking for some hidden gems? Try The Plantation Garden, a Grade II English Heritage garden that’s perfect for a quiet wander, or Upper St Giles Street in The Norwich Lanes with its tempting bakeries and cosy cafés. And if you need more shopping check out Norwich's premier shopping mall – Chantry Place - with over 90 shops and eateries featuring all your favourite brands!

We’re due to arrive at 11:45 and depart at 16:30. The coach will set down on Castle Meadow in the heart of the ancient city.

If you're planning to visit any of our suggested attractions, please check with the venues for opening times, any entry fees and pre-booking requirements before departure.
