Enjoy a couple of hours wandering within the lovely Georgian town of Holt before spending the afternoon amongst an incredible collection of rhododendrons and azaleas at nearby Stody Lodge Gardens. The Azalea Water Garden is bursting with over 2000 azalea mollis and is believed to be the largest single planting of its kind in the country - the size of three football pitches! The Lodge Gardens feature magnolias, camellias and late flowering bulbs, all set beautifully within The Sunken Garden, Secret Garden, Woodland Garden and many more beautiful areas. New for 2023 was the development of the Dawn Garden - these two new beds, designed by Stody Lodge owner, Kate MacNicol, feature a strong white planting scheme, accented by dark plum reds. The whole estate is a photographer's paradise with mesmerising reflections in the water garden, huge rhododendron canopies and beautifully manicured sweeping lawns.
Finish your day with a refreshing cream tea (including a scone with jam and cream, a slice of cake and tea/coffee), which should top off your day nicely at this beautiful spring garden, which is at its peak in May. A voucher for cream tea will be handed to you on arrival, for you to enjoy at a time of your choosing. Click here for a video tour of this incredibly colourful location.
Includes free time in Holt, entry to Stody Lodge Gardens with cream tea, return travel and a reserved coach seat. The coach is due to arrive in Holt (Market Place Bus Stop) at 11:00 and we'll depart for the gardens at 13:30. We'll arrive at Stody Lodge at 14:00 and head home at 16:45. Please note that accessibility within the gardens is good but there is a 300m walk from the coach park to the main lawn. A comfort stop has not been scheduled but there will be a toilet onboard the coach.
