This tour has been and gone but don't worry, we've got lots more Great Days Out to choose from.

Dont miss this opportunity to visit the contemporary, city centre Hepworth Wakefield Gallery which is hosting an exciting new Barbara Hepworth: Art & Life exhibition. It's worth taking a wander around The Hepworth Wakefield Garden whilst you're here, which is FREE to enter and looks rather pretty on the banks of the River Calder. The garden was designed by internationally acclaimed landscape architect Tom Stuart-Smith with distinctive planting and sculptures from Sir Michael Craig-Martin and Barbara Hepworth. You'll find a tasty take away Garden Café serving produce from local Yorkshire providers.

Also worth a visit is the Cathedral, you can't miss it as it has the tallest spire in Yorkshire! Contrast it with the Chantry Chapel, which is small but perfectly formed and one of only three bridge chapels left in the entire country. And dont forget to pick up a bargain or two at the open air market in the Cathedral Precinct.

We're due to arrive in Wakefield at 11:45 and depart at 16:45 giving you plenty of time to enjoy everything this cultural northern cathedral city has to offer.

Entry fees may apply and pre-booking may be required at the suggested attractions. Please check with the venues before departure.
