York boasts more attractions per square mile than anywhere else in the UK! At a glance... York Minster is a masterpiece of stained glass and stone, recognised as one of the grandest cathedrals in the world. York Castle Museum gives you a glimpse in to 400 years of life in the city, from luxurious rich dwellings to poverty on the streets. The free-to-enter National Railway Museum brings you up close to iconic locomotives, with the option to add on tickets to ride their Miniature Railway, the Mallard Experience and more. A York City Cruise along the River Ouse offers an alternative and relaxing way to see the sights. There should be some great photo opportunities and you may even spot a kingfisher as you meander past historic buildings and under ancient stone bridges!
You’ll be spoilt for choice with eating, drinking and shopping spots in the city. A saunter down the Shambles is a must. With overhanging timber buildings and a narrow cobbled floor, it's one of the best-preserved medieval shopping streets in Europe.
We’re due to arrive at 11:45 and depart at 16:45. The coach will stop at the Union Terrace Coach Park and it’s just a short walk down Gillygate to the heart of this historic city. There'll be a short comfort stop at Blyth Services on the outward and return journey.
Entry fees may apply and pre-booking may be required at the suggested attractions. Please check with the venues before departure.
