Wednesday
Christmas begins as soon as we arrive at the coast as we head straight to Great Yarmouth’s iconic Hippodrome to watch the Christmas Circus & Water Spectacular! This unique venue is Britain’s last remaining circus building and features one of only three sinking rings in the world! Expect a fun-filled afternoon of non-stop, sparkling festive entertainment from over 60 world-class performers! Take the short transfer, or stretch your legs with a half mile walk, to the hotel and warm up with tea/coffee & mince pies or stollen cake. There’s live entertainment in the Mermaid Bar after dinner tonight.
Thursday
Spend a leisurely morning by the sea on Christmas Eve before heading over to Norwich where the Christmas spirit should be shining bright! The Cathedral usually offers two special services today (open to all) and the carols sound rather wonderful in this ancient building. The city is well known for its fabulous shopping, complemented by various pop-up Christmas markets. There’s more live entertainment in the Mermaid Bar after dinner tonight.
Friday
Merry Christmas! Feel festive and full after a four-course turkey lunch, then relax as you watch the King’s Speech in the bar or take a traditional afternoon stroll along the seafront. It’s just a ten-minute walk to The Minster - England’s largest parish church - where there’s usually a Christmas morning family service (tbc). There will be a hot/cold buffet this evening.
Saturday
Head to neighbouring Suffolk to the timeless resort of Southwold, where a Boxing Day stroll along the restored 623m pier is sure to refresh you on a winter’s morning. Warm up back at the hotel with afternoon tea and a festive quiz/bingo in the bar before dinner tonight.
Sunday
After check out, we’ll head home via Cambridge where shopping at The Grand Arcade will still be feeling festive and the sales may even have started! Christmas in Cambridge on Parker’s Piece usually runs until the end of December, with Alpine market chalets and wonderful winter views from the Big Wheel.
