Why visit Galloway? Expect a warm and relaxed energy in the south-west corner of Scotland, in a region that feels a little wild, a little magical and a little untouched. Deep green forests, dramatic coastal cliff edges, gardens thriving in the warmth of the Gulf Stream and wildlife that actually shows up! Red deer, otters and ospreys are at home here, as are the Highland Cattle, which never fail to make us smile, year after year.

Monday

Cross the border and enjoy a scenic drive to the hotel.

Tuesday

We’re heading off the beaten track this morning with a scenic drive out to Scotland’s most southerly point. This challenging road has views at every corner as we wind our way to the Gallie Craig Coffee House, perched high on the Mull of Galloway, with a tea/coffee and scone included. On a clear day you’ll have views all the way to the Isle of Man and Ireland! Experience the exotic this afternoon at Logan Botanic Garden where an almost sub‑tropical climate enables fascinating plants from around the world to flourish.

Wednesday

More memorable vistas this morning from Glenwhan Gardens, where stunning views across to the Isle of Man and Luce Bay await. The team will welcome you with a short talk on the lawns before wandering at leisure in this peaceful paradise, famous for its winter gardens and tender species that thrive under the warmth of the Gulf Stream. Back to the hotel for an afternoon at leisure in Stranraer, perhaps pop to the Castle of St John, the museum, or take a wander along the loch.

Thursday

Pause for a wildlife spotting opportunity at Red Deer Range before arriving in Newton Stewart to spend time in this quaint market town on the banks of the River Cree. This afternoon, get up close to Highland cows and learn about local farming traditions during a ‘Kitchen Coos & Ewes’ guided highland tour. This unique experience takes you deep into the countryside, towed by a tractor and seated in a trailer, with cream tea included, at Airyolland Farm.

Friday

Enjoy a final glimpse of Scotland before heading home.
