Take a trip down memory lane during this morning’s visit to the Bygones Museum. Walk down an authentic Victorian street and a World War Trench, be captivated by the 28-foot model railway and climb aboard a steam engine. Spend the afternoon at leisure - we’ll offer a stop in Torquay (free hotel taxi returns at 16:30), relax in the hotel’s Wellness Centre or take a winter walk along the rugged coastal path. Test your knowledge at our afternoon quiz with tea/coffee & biscuits before entertainment tonight.
Wednesday
Discover the immense beauty and rich history of the English Riviera during this morning’s guided coach tour, offering a fascinating glimpse into the region’s ancient past and hidden geological wonders. There’s free time in Torquay before receiving a warm welcome at Kent’s Cavern where you’ll head underground for a special Christmas Cave Tour. Listen carefully to a heart-warming reading of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas whilst being surrounded by 400 million-year-old rocks that ancient humans once called home. Round off your visit with mince pies & mulled wine before returning to the hotel. Note: Kents Cavern has paved floors, handrails and just nine shallow steps.

Uncover the secrets of one of Europe’s finest monastic buildings during a guided tour of Exeter Cathedral. Afterwards, head to the Cathedral’s Christmas Market with over a hundred twinkling chalets that champion delicious West Country produce, artisan gifts and even global street food. Or, perhaps spend time exploring this ancient city which predates the arrival of the Romans! It’s home to the award-winning Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery (free entry) full of fascinating exhibits that uncover the city’s 2000 year history. Back to the hotel with entertainment tonight.
