Why stay in Sidmouth? The Jurassic Coast is dramatic, but Sidmouth’s stretch is special. Those red Triassic cliffs glow at sunrise and sunset in a way that oozes warmth. Here, the nostalgic nature of the resort means that you can breathe, wander and take it all in, without feeling hurried. The Connaught Gardens on the headland look bright and colourful in summer and the famous steps leading down to Jacob's Ladder make for a lovely little adventure. A stroll along the traditional Esplanade is a must.
