A Night Under The Stars

We don’t remember seeing this in the brochure…! Last Friday’s overnight stay was something a little different as four of our amazing team swapped four-star hotels for a night under the stars and got cosy next to the coaches, all in the name of charity.

On Friday 20th March four of our amazing team slept under the stars to raise money for the Royal British Veterans Enterprise, a national charity that supports ex-servicemen and women. Tom, Carl, Graham and Dennis set up camp in our Maxey coach yard for the night as part of The Great Tommy Sleep Out, raising awareness of veteran homelessness. As of today, they have raised an incredible £1424 for this very special charity, an amazing achievement and we are so very proud of them.

Our drivers are used to a warm welcome from our hotel partners during our tours across the UK – the conditions for this overnight stay were rather different! But, even in the frosty temperatures, spirits remained high – just as they always are on our tours. With Graham on bed making duty, Den on fire building, Carl on cooking and Tom on ration duty - they really were the dream team! Tom slept army-style, constructing himself a basha and eating and drinking from an army-issue ration pack whilst the others set up tents and camping chairs – at all times staying on high alert for ‘Mr Fox’ who had been spotted stalking in the darkness! Despite the chilly conditions they all agreed that they’d be happy to do it again next year (even if Carl did take a bit of nudge to get going the next morning!).

Thank you to everyone that has already supported, donations can be made up until the end of March so if you’d like to give to this very worthy cause please follow the link below.
