Top tips for primary schools

Get the best value

COST.

Travel on our off-peak dates/months, these vary according to demand but usually prices are at their lowest from January to March and at their highest in May, June and July.

Travel at off peak times for local trips, usually no earlier than 0900/0930 and returning to school by around 1430 gives you the best price.

Be flexible! Give us a call and ask if we have any quiet days coming up. We’ll always be honest as it benefits us both – we fill a gap in the diary and you get a great deal!

Book early for peak date summer trips to ensure not only availability and but also the best price.

Our fleet consists of 27 and 53 seat vehicles (49 seats in our executive coaches) – if your numbers are just over 27 you may be paying for a larger coach that you don’t necessarily need. Can you increase or decrease your numbers to make maximum use of the seats available or maybe share with another school?

Remember, price should not always be the final decider. If you have a really cheap alternative quote, think about why that might be. We value all work equally and our drivers will always treat your students with care and respect with safety at the forefront, just like all our other clients.

CARE.

Help us to help you. It’s the driver’s job to manage the vehicle and the accompanying adults’ job to manage the children. In the interests of safety, we always recommend placing an adult at the front, middle and rear of the coach.

For trips taking place outside of normal office hours, we’ll always provide you with our out of hours number and we would ask you to ensure that we are always able to contact either the school or a teacher in charge whilst a trip is taking place.

CONVENIENCE.

We can offer free activity sheets and crayons to younger children: some quiz questions and an I-spy game to keep them entertained on longer journeys. Just let us know if you’d like us to add these to your booking.

We provide a free planning and booking service for ferry crossings, theatre tickets and visitor attractions so let us know if you want some advice or assistance on where to go and what to do. Why not take a look at our choice of Great Days Out, it’s packed with ideas for day trips, some of which might work for a school trip?

Use our knowledge. If you’re travelling further afield feel free us to ask if a particular location and travelling time is a practical proposition for the age group.
