It is the first time the Bayeux Tapestry has been displayed in the UK since it was made almost 1,000 years ago - at an exhibition that is expected to be one of the most popular events in the British Museum's history. The 70-metre-long masterpiece tells the story of the conquest of England in 1066 by William, Duke of Normandy. Through 58 scenes, 626 characters and 202 horses, the tapestry gives an account of the medieval period in Normandy and England like no other. Your ticket includes return travel and free entry to the British Museum, if you wish to see the Tapestry you will also require an exhibition ticket which needs to be booked directly with the museum.
