Monday
Enjoy a leisurely Bank Holiday mooch around one of Suffolk’s most delightful spots – Lavenham, widely considered Britain’s best preserved medieval village with over 300 listed buildings. The pastel-coloured, timber-framed homes, boutiques, cafes and pubs that line the narrow streets are a pretty reminder of the town's rich Tudor past. We aim to arrive at Five Lakes just in time for the start of your all inclusive package, which begins at 3pm. Will you start your holiday with a refreshing drink in the bar, or get active with the huge variety of leisure options?
Tuesday
This morning, we’ve arranged an optional excursion to one of Essex’s oldest towns – Maldon, on market day. Wander past historic buildings filled with tempting boutiques on Market Hill and the High Street, watch sail boats bobbing calmly in Hythe Quay and enjoy a spring stroll through Promenade Park on the sloping banks of the River Blackwater. You’ll be back in time for your all-inclusive lunch and afternoon leisure – anything from air rifles to line dancing could be on the agenda!
Wednesday
This morning, will you choose to take our optional excursion to Britain’s first city and former Roman capital – Colchester? Colchester Castle is the largest Norman Keep in Europe and a visit is now better than ever with interactive displays and star exhibits, like the Colchester Gladiator Vase and Fenwick Hoard of Roman treasure (entry fee applies). It’s free entry to Firstsite – a spectacularly designed gallery housing impressive artworks and even a Roman mosaic. It’s market day in town and with a wealth of shops along the High Street you’ll be spoilt for choice. You’ll be back in time for your all-inclusive lunch and afternoon leisure, anything from row boats to salsa could be on offer!
Thursday
Spend a full day at leisure, making the most of this fully inclusive resort. Anything from from archery to hand jive could be on the activity schedule!
Friday
After a leisurely 10am checkout it’s time to begin the journey home, but the holiday doesn’t end here. We couldn’t pass by the nearby Tiptree Jam Shop & Museum without popping in. Discover how the art of preserve-making has advanced over the years in the museum and perhaps take home something sweet from the tempting shop. Continue to the timeless resort of Southwold on the Suffolk coast, one of our all-time favourite destinations. The restored 623m long pier offers peaceful views out to sea and back towards the colourful beach huts and historical town - it’s a great spot to enjoy a cooling summer drink. Look out for Tim Hunkin’s famous Water Clock that’s bound to give you a giggle as the hour strikes.
