The 'City of Dreaming Spires' is packed to the rooftops with historic buildings and fascinating museum collections. The Ashmolean Museum is home to everything from prehistoric archeology to Renaissance art, and best of all, it's free to enter! Current exhibitions include a display of Roman coins found in Oxfordshire and a showcase by Bangladeshi artist Soma Surovi Jannat addressing climate change. The famous Bodleian Library, hosts inspiring exhibitions in the Weston Library featuring rare items from the library's collection. Current exhibitions include Pets and Their People, The Wonder of Birds and don't miss the Elizabethan tapestry map of Oxfordshire that's on permanent display in Blackwell Hall and measures an impressive 3.5x5.5 metres!
Shopping in Oxford is now better than ever following the re-development of Westgate Shopping Centre. This modern, stylish shopping complex is home to John Lewis, Next and hundreds more, it even has its own Roof Terrace offering mesmerising views across the city. For something a bit different head to the Historic Covered Market which welcomes visitors with an array of colours and aromas, and has been doing so since the 1770s!
Includes free time in Oxford, return travel and a reserved coach seat. The coach is due to arrive at 11:30 and depart at 16:30, setting down and picking up on Beaumont Street, just outside the Playhouse. There will be a comfort stop at Northampton Services on the outward journey.
