Arrive at your cliff-top hotel on Fistral Bay.
Tuesday
Enjoy a guided tour at Wheal Martyn this morning, at the UK's only china clay mining museum. The museum is now classified a Scheduled Ancient Monument - hear 250 years worth of stories from this fascinating industry during the museum's 50th anniversary year. Then to Mevagissey, a quaint fishing village full of traditional Cornish character and home to a tangle of gift shops and cafés lining the narrow streets.
Wednesday
Spend the morning in Cornwall’s only city – Truro – where you'll find some unique art galleries and lovely cafés. Head to The Pannier Market on Lemon Quay for Truro’s largest indoor market and on Wednesday’s the Farmer’s Market is also here selling local, fresh breads and bakes. A new open-art exhibition is due to open at Cornwall Museum & Art Gallery (entry approx. £10pp) this season - Framed, sees Cornish artists collaborate through contemporary creativity. Spend a relaxing afternoon at the hotel or enjoy a fresh walk along the cliff.
Thursday
Pencarrow House is a Georgian gem tucked away on the edge of Bodmin Moor, still lived in by the same family who settled here 500 years ago. Fine features are in abundance including a rococo ceiling and a cantilever stone staircase, learn all about it during a guided tour with time to enjoy a spot of fresh air in the gardens, as the ancient trees turn a warm autumnal shade. Then to pretty Padstow – perhaps pick up a warming alfresco coffee to enjoy on the harbour edge or make the most of this window shoppers’ paradise as you wind your way through the boutiques.
