Monday
Spend time at Bridgemere Show Gardens where in autumn, the colours of the maples glow with fiery hues. You’ll find 16 individual gardens, nine of which have won gold or silver at the prestigious RHS Shows. Check in at your hotel and get ready for your first dinner this evening.
Tuesday
Spend free time in the ancient city of Chester this morning, rich in Roman, Viking and Norman history along with the most complete city walls in Britain. Stroll down the famous Rows - unique, medieval timber-framed galleries which line the main streets - now brimming with quirky independents. Cameras at the ready as you cross the ‘stream in the sky’ during a cruise across the 38m high Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. This impressive structure was completed in 1805, boasting 19 giant spans over the River Dee. Pop into the visitor centre before returning to the hotel via the scenic Horseshoe Pass.
Wednesday
Spend the day in the cultural capital of Liverpool. Get to know the city with a two-hour taxi tour this morning. Your lively, knowledgeable and local guide will drive you in a traditional black cab around some of Liverpool’s hottest spots offering a fantastic, rounded story of this thriving destination. Explore at leisure this afternoon, find contemporary art at Tate Liverpool, uncover the city’s history at the Museum of Liverpool (both free entry) or wander along the iconic waterfront.
Thursday
Blast into outer space this morning at Jodrell Bank, home to the instantly recognisable Lovell Telescope. Discover the ground-breaking science that takes place at this UNESCO World Heritage Site and head deep into the galaxy during an immersive planetarium show inside the dome. Spend free time in the delightful market town of Knutsford this afternoon, perhaps follow the town’s new Bee Trail which takes you on a self-guided (5km) walk past hidden gems. The coach will transfer back to the hotel for any guests wishing to make the most of the hotel leisure, or visit the neighbouring garden centre and Gauntlet Birds of Prey Park.

Pause in the Cathedral city of Lichfield on the way home.
