Why visit Snowdonia? Snowdonia is one of the most stunning and divers regions in the UK, offering a unique blend of natural beauty, adventure, culture and history. Epic landscapes dominate the scenery, centring on the incredible Mount Snowdon - the highest mountain in Wales and England. Enjoy breathtaking views of this iconic peak during an unforgettable journey on the Welsh Highland Railway. Head from steam to sail with a seacoast safari aboard the finest passenger vessel on the Menai Strait, with incredible wildlife spotting opportunities and history dating back to 6th century saints! Portmeirion remains an all-time favourite attraction for our customers – a unique location where the Italian Riviera meets rural Wales. If you’ve previously visited The Lost Gardens of Heligan with us then you may well be interested in the Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens on the Isle of Anglesey. These ancient gardens are being carefully restored by relations of the family that uncovered the secrets of Heligan and are quickly becoming one of the liveliest gardens in Wales.
Stay on the edge of this pristine National Park in Caernarfon, on the eastern shore of the Menai Strait. Crowned a UNESCO World Heritage site, this popular town thrives on history and heritage and is the ideal base to experience some of Snowdonia's most spectacular scenery. The mighty 13th century castle, surrounded by sailing boats bobbing on the calm waters, dominates the backdrop, whilst narrow streets, tucked away in the town, give you the chance to seek out local products.

Monday
"Croeso i gymru" – Welcome to Wales – with tea, coffee at the hotel.
Tuesday
Spend time in Caernarfon, on the shores of the Menai Strait with Wales' most famous castle as your backdrop – where HM The King was crowned Prince of Wales in 1969. Wander through the pretty streets, watch boats bobbing on the water and take in the distant mountain views. Camera at the ready as we drive over the Nant Francon Pass, then through the Vale of Conwy to Llandudno, to spend time by the sea in a resort that has remained largely unchanged since Victorian times.
Wednesday
Steam along the UK’s longest heritage railway from Caernarfon, past the foot of Snowdon, to the riverside village of Beddgelert on an unforgettable two-hour journey on the Welsh Highland Railway. Panoramic windows ensure unrivalled views of ancient woodland, mountains, rivers and castles. Then to the unique, Italian inspired village of Portmeirion – with colour-washed buildings and a lively central piazza. Clough Williams-Ellis envisaged this coastal village in the mid 1920s to prove that a beautiful location could be developed without spoiling it.
Thursday
Cross the Menai Bridge to the Isle of Anglesey and board an 80-minute seacoast safari to Puffin Island. Informative commentary will guide you through the resident and visiting birds, you may even be lucky enough to spot a grey seal or dolphin. Spend the afternoon at Plas Cadnant – Anglesey’s hidden gardens and winners at the 2023 Nation’s Favourite Gardens awards. This ancient garden is under careful restoration, so far, a curved walled garden, secret valley garden with waterfalls and a woodland garden – complete with 19th century folly – have been discovered.
