Indulge in a guided experience through 4000 years of chocolate history. An expert guide will take you on a journey through York’s confectionary past and present where you’ll discover the stories of those who pioneered the chocolate industry, from its exotic origins in the rainforests of central America to the cobbled streets of Yorkshire. You’ll discover interesting facts about iconic brands such as Kit Kat and Aero and learn how to taste chocolate like a true Chocolatier, indulging in hand-crafted chocolate samples. The experience finishes with a hands-on chocolate crafting session, personalising your very own chocolate lolly with a selection of toppings before watching a live demo from a master chocolatier.
This delicious day out includes free time to enjoy York's sights and shops, in a city with more attractions per square mile than any other UK city! This week is York Food Festival, expect market stalls and live demos along Parliament Street to celebrate the best of Yorkshire’s vibrant food and drink scene. A saunter down the Shambles is a must - with overhanging timber buildings and a narrow cobbled floor, it's one of the best-preserved medieval shopping streets in Europe.
Includes entry to York's Chocolate Story with a 60-75 minute guided tour featuring a tasting, a hands-on experience and a live demo, free time in York, return travel and a reserved coach seat. The coach is due to arrive at York's Union Terrace Coach Park by 11:45 with free time before your timed entry to York's Chocolate Story at 14:30. The experience finishes around 15:45 with time to visit the gift shop and cafe before the coach departs at 16:45. There will be a comfort stop at Blythe Services on the outward and return journey.
